My Final Project....Technology

 Call me tech Girl.As you can see by my Picture and following pictures I'm using three different types of technologies. A computer, and ipod.Well so far i only have this picture combing three. Technology is my future as well as everyone else's. I can only imagine when they stop using or making things with technologies.Oh the horrid! Im usually on "My Laptop" because its not really mines i just use it all the time more than the actual owner does. I see how i live with this and it relates to the movie called "The Matrix and also relates to my english class which revolves around the future. The future is now the future is everyone,everything,everywhere as morpheus states in the matrix. So apparently we are the matrix.

I know this is a silly picture of me but this is how our technology has changed. Instead of using a camera to take pictures ,Now they have implanted webcams in laptops so its a good two for one deal which has effects where you can crop and edit your photo's. At this moment i was listening to my itunes music library, too technical? Nahhhhh! THE FUTURE IS HERE I TELL YOU!
People ask me more like my mom"omg can't you g a day without that camera or those things your always on?" ummm no. Its like Neo never going down the rabbit hole and never seeing how deep it goes and sees the truth ill give it it to neo so props to you neo and thank you morpheus.
I see how everytime i go into my Eng099 i see people check their emails before class starts. yeah tech take over.

Now This technology right here is pure genius. Now its a combination of everything I need.Pictures music internet etc. Awesome much.Okay so now you know I'm totally obsessed with everything that has to do with technology. It could be anything down to a phone but yeah my life equals technology.Don't judge me. Everyone has their Fetish. This is my Fetish! Long Live Technology! I just hope out future doesn't turn out like the movie The Terminator. 

Cat Day Predictor Blog 4.4

Its  5:06 waiting for my next class or should I say the path to my way out of Eng099 a.k.a The CATW. As I'm waiting with my good friend Enrique he tells me its just a stroll in the park and i got this in the bag. That i should relax and take it easy. I was still so focused because earlier today i had tooken a Math test that i had done well in since im not brilliant on that perticular subject. I took his advice because he took the same test as well Monday afternoon. "Do you feel you learned alot in your class?" he asked. "Yeah, better then i started.""Welllllll What the heck you worrying about?" He's got a point, If i never put as much effort into the catw practice as i did i probably wouldn't know what to write at all even if the let us used our phones....who am i kidding. It was finally time to take the test and i had enriques words in my mind. I saw Barbara and raissa both waiting as well i stood next to them wishing them luck. Two students i come close friends with. I hear Smith giving us last minute prep talk and telling us we're all going to do fine. As i go into the room we are all each assigned a seat. Proctors Tell us our instructions and we start. An hour and a half later i walk out knowing i did good. All i gotta do is wait til next week to be certain.

Is Google making us stupid? Cat 6 Blog 4.3

“Is Google making us stupid?” shows us that Google in our minds maybe be the best source for our mind to look up information but in all reality we’re learning absolutely nothing from it. We only gain information for a short amount of time that we actually never put our minds and really research what we look for. We devote our time to a web source when it’s only a distraction and putting a road block in our brains from real learning. Then again who really has time to intake every information they get . it’s not like their going to remember it anyways.

 “Is Google making us stupid?” by Nicholas Carr is about how Google is such the greatest web source that gives us information to just about anything you can thing of but on the other hand we the people never really intake the information and think about what it says or what it means all that matters to us is that we found what we’re looking for and that’s about it. Our mind takes in knowledge when we’re peaceful, and relaxed. The less peaceful we are, the less knowledge we gain. We’re so use to the internet that we never stop, stare and realize that we have a world of knowledge to learn from, we’re distracted with text messages and using the net other than using our minds and put it to a good use. The way to learn isn’t Google. Google is just an easy way out, to really open your mind to fresh useful data is stop depending on everything that gives it to you and think.

I believe that Nicholas Carr has a point when it comes to Google. We use it to much for almost everything we do. We use it at home, school, and even work. As much as I dislike to agree with this article, I do agree but then again I don’t. Suppose I only agree with this because it’s true that means I’m going to have to stop using my technology and knowing myself, I refuse to. I’m so attached to it I’ve become one with technology.  How else am I going to get information? Yes I know some information on the internet is false but then again there are official web pages that gives you the information you need.

I understand that yes we do use Google to look up things and never pay any mind to it, okay good point. Then again who really remembers everything they read anyways? You’d have to be the smartest person alive and have patience to sit down and read everything, which can take forever or maybe more because there are more things that are being discovered yet not enough time to really acknowledge it. Earth is getting advance every day, how are we suppose to know what’s happening if our technology is turned off?

Nicholas Carr states “If you’re really interested in developing your mind, you should turn off your computer and your cell phone—and start thinking.”  Okay we use Google way to much but then again some people do not have time to go out into the world and explore what their looking for maybe zoologist or geologist do but I’m taking about working people, People who have kids, who don’t have any money to travel.

He states that we should learn on our own. he does have a vauluable point,but what he fails to realize is that everyday we're getting more advanced and there's a new discovery being discovered. it doesn't hurt to use the computer to look up things on Google, It's just we have to learn to gain knowledge from it.

After  reading Rewired by Larry Rosen Ph.D, using technology as a teaching tool is a great method to learn. We all know that the young crowd is more often to pay mind if they're on a phone or computer rather than to learn from a teacher speaking and writing notes on a board.

Rewired by larry Rosen Ph.D is about how Larry Rosen really believes that the best way for preteens and teens to learn is throughtout technology like internet and cell phones. If they include school work with technology, most likely they would be needed to do work but have little interest by doing other things as long as the work gets complete. It states that the best formula to learn is 30 minutes of non teh with an hour of tech that is school work, or multitasking both. Teens may spend alot of time with friends and tech but as teens, thats how their social life is.. But using both tech with learning makes it exciting and makes everyone happy.


I believe that having technology as a tooling method is a great idea and I agree with Larry Rosen. Many teens now live on technology that it's impossible for them to go a day without. SO why not combine both. I know it's never allowed because because the department of education doesn't allow it but it's so boring to sit in a class especially with a dull teacher teaching you a subject you'll soon forget. Now combing both school and tech is the best move because we may relate.


Larry Rosen's formula of using tech for an hour and non tech for 30 minutes a good idea. I catch myself doing this all the time even in school. In my classes I use alot of internet using so why not multi-task a little fun with learning. I see other students do the same thing. I compare how I leanr to a regular classroom to a classroom that has computers,Outcome? Classrooms with tech made it interesting and doesn't make you snooze.


Larry Rosen States "  This is their social life and you cannot deny them that which helps them develop and grow." i couldn't said it better myself. Students or teens based their social life on mobile devices. Myself as a teen, I know what it's like because I grew up with technology era and I can say it's addicitng.


Rewired by Larry Rosen Ph.D shows that one person reached out and studied how us teens learn. The outcome Larry came up was great because it show that, thats the only way we teens pay mind . combing tech and learning makes everyone satisfied.

After reading the article Let them eat fat by Greg Crister, I believe that fast food is mostly the cause of our health problems. If we continue to keep eating this way, there will be a big chance that it's going to be even more harder to find places that are healthier then it already is.

Let them eat fat is an article about how our nation is runned by fast food. Mainly low income people purchase foods like mcdonalds because it's cheaper.It was said in Pasadena, California, the supersize orders are very popoular. Young black kids that come out of school make their way to mcdonalds and place an order. Within their order they supsersize and item .Meals are now rising in calories. A dietitian says teenagers consume more calories then they're required. Not only is the calories a porblem but the protiens they eat are fat.The higher the ratio goes if the young generation eat these sort of meals the lower the physical activities get per year.
It concerns me that the low income population has the highest problem but it doesn't surprise me. As the article stated young black kids consume fast foods, I believe this statement is true.Where I live I see alot of young kids come out of school and head into a fast food joint. I know because I was one of them. I'm not saying i've stopped  but I cut off fast food alot. I see how it's unhealthy and that I'm really physical active. I would understand why a dietitan would critsize so hard, look at what we let younger people eat.
As much as we want to believe that fast food has "healthy food" I find it very untrue. You kever know what addition ingredients they put . It's crazy how much the calories are going up and so are the carbohydrates. It should really be physical activties rising.
Advertising doesn't make the siutation better ethier.They state that they have healthy foods but its not really advertised and when you do go inside to place and order and look up on the menu its only a very small portion of the menu thats so called "healthy".I notice that when I step into a mcdonalds ,95% i see people eating a cheese burger fries and a soda , 5%  I see people eating a salad and a bottle water. Even with the the salad the salad dressing has tons of calories so it makes no sense at all. Might as well just order a regular combo of a burger fries and soda.
Fast food  has become badly popular according to Greg Critser and its true. Young crowds consuming wrong foods and being less active, bad idea. then they wonder why their so out of shape and tired all the time. they should reallty consider lots of fast foods and opening more healtheir places.

The meatrix is about how a pig named leo comes across a cow named moopheus and moopheus askes him if he wants to know what the meatrix is. Leo is giving a choice the red pill to enter the meatrix and the blue people to live the life he has already known. Leo decides to take the red pill and discovers the real world of the meatrix. It shows how meat is processed Leo gets fed up with what he as seen and been told. He soon gets extremely mad and askes moopheus how can they put an end to this

The article The net is the real world shows us that the net  brings out the realness in people if your not careful and especially with people you think you know.

The net is the real world by Jake Simms and Larry Magid is about how one college student Tyler  Clementi ,who  askes his colleagues for some private time in their dorm till midnight. His request was granted but not his privacy of his roommates had secretly placed a webcam that showed Tyler made out with another guy and was leaked out into the internet .Tyler found out about his roommates stunt and was devastated that he posted a goodbye post on his facebook status and jumped off a bridge into the river where he was discovered dead the following day.”The internet shows tons of graphics of people doing things they wouldn’t do in person” states John Suler. Things that are on the net can ruin a person reputation. How far do we have to go to ask for a little bit of privacy that it’s even leaked onto the internet?

I believe as much as we wanted to have our own privacy we can’t have due to the people and their lack of respect. Now that the internet is more advance with technology anything can happened to anyone and anything. For instants webcams  people can be turn them on and leave them on without  noticing or they can use them to make threats or even farewell videos who ever decides to commit suicide or even in this case invasion of privacy.

Its  funny how you get to know one person and as you try to trust them with anything or ask for a little favor they go behind you back and that’s when you feel like you been betrayed and might lead you to do something you wouldn’t think people would think? Tyler Clementi felted this. As much as this is a sad tragedy, we realize that privacy is never granted when it is asked for. It is either betrayed or exposed, little do we know maybe to the world.

As much as useful or fun the net might be it’s a cruel and dangerous world because of the people that don’t have consideration. We hackers, and c yberbullies that really have no respect for privacy or even respect for themselves for that matter that they go out of their own misery and destroy other people’s lives without noticing or just doing it as a prank and probably boredom.

Invasion of privacy is a huge issue now in days that we have to be careful with the people we talk to or where we are located. As for Tyler Clementi , he took his own life due to lack of privacy and as much as we think we know people and the internet plus technology, We really have no clue. It makes you think how much trust you have in a person don’t  you?

                  In class our professor had put on a movie i havent seen in the longest, The matrix. when the movie was over and on my way home for some odd reason  i wanted to listen to one of my favorite groups linkin park and their song crawling. As im on the train i started to relax and really paid mind to what the song was trying to say.Thats when it hit me when listened to the song it says "Crawling in my skin These wounds they will not heal Fear is how I fall Confusing what is real" I saw nothing but the matrix pop into my head and question myself do we really exist in the world we think we live in? Do we really have wounds if we recovery from them? Then it goes There's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface Consuming/confusing This lack of self-control I fear is never ending Controlling/I can't seem.I thought of this as no one can really control themselves if you think about yeah they might have some self control but everyone needs help.Now what am i thinking or how does relate to reality from illusion Take a minute to close your eyes and daze off, now come back, don't you every get that feelin when you space out and come back from where ever your mind was from you question yourself or even look at yourself in the mirror to i really exist. then you start to feel your surrounds to make sure your living the life that you are. For example, When your having a bad day and you close your eyes and say to yourself please let thsi be just a dream or when your sleeping and when your drreaming your dream felted so real you wake up and go whoa did that just really happened? Everythime i hear this i always question myself and everything that surrounds me. Hey call me crazy but haven't you ever question the unknown? Try it sometime

Truman VS "TRUEMAN' 1.4

Will the real Truman please stand up; I repeat will the real Truman please stand up! I couldn’t help but wonder after seeing the Truman show once Truman steps beyond the exit of seahaven will Truman actually like the “sick world” better than the one he was born to believe? Many thoughts wander through my mind when the movie had ended. In my opinion  is a 50/50 chance because both worlds has their pros and cons but its up to Truman who gets to decides in the outcome of the remainder of his life.

As we know Truman Burbank has not lived an ordinary life. Everything he knows is based on a lie including his friends and his world Truman soon discovers the truth about himself and decides to escape to the real world outside of seahaven. In seahaven yes I do agree it is a perfect world, but its a little to perfect to live in. Like Truman i think I would go insane in the membrane if I had to life that sort of lifestyle. Okay I’ll give it to the town of seahaven its drama free and its way different from how the real world is. But how can you go on with life not learning any morals, exploring the world meeting new people if its that
perfect? I’m not saying our worl is perfect ethier bt what so good about it we get to experience new things once in a while. The sick world can be a dangerous place but was well as a great place if you know where you are.

What if  truman actually watched our version of reality t.v? If i was truman I would get offend don’t ask I just would. The sick world has tons of reality t.v series but the difference is people signed up for it not truman thats one of the things truman would have to realize when he starts living in our world. Yes, it would be a big change from seahaven but  T.v. is T.v 
 Lets say if Truman does decide to live in the real world, people will be real up front won’t care it’s a scary place but its worth the risk seahaven is a safer place but I would understand why Truman would wanna  leave. Then again the real world  can be a positive place as well. If you meet the right people go to the right places Truman should be fine.
Truman has many reason to leave seahaven I would understand why ytuly because he was forced to live there but what lies on the other side of the exit of seahaven is  not so different they both have their pros and cons yet there are both similar in some types of ways. I still think about it, Would Truman would wanna live as Truman Burbank or would Truman would wanna live as what I ike to call him a TRUEMAN. This question to me will be forever unanswered but like I said before it’s a 50/50 chance that Truman will go back. I think since Sylvia lives outside of seahaven he probably won’t return because of her. I think that was his main reason to get out of seahaven in the first place. Who wouldn’t wanna continue trying to find a lost love? So I say The Real world wins. I think Truman should stay living there. Where everythings real he does what he pleases and he finally knows the truth without Christof stopping him.

My Place in the Cave 1.3

              Who am I? Where Am I? I see a....Light!  A light of reality.
 I was introduce to a story which was called "allegory of the Cave"  in which it deals with slaves being trapped in a cave there whole lives chained up to only believe what was in front of them which was a wall with shadows. The only thing that stood behind them was a fire which made the shadows on the wall and they could see nothing else. One Prisoner had escaped and decided to walk out of the cave which he soon discovered there was a world he never thought had existed. He ran back to tell his prisoner friends but they all thought he went crazy and they decide to live the life being chained up.
In my life I feel like I am walking out into a light. I feel like my very own life has been a cave and it' s time for me to let loose and see and experience life my own way. Right now is that I'm being to see the reality of the world by doing things the way i do even it it makes me make mistakes.I feel like have to start making my own moves and explore this adventure on my own. As the prisoner, I would like to go back and tell my friends what I'm discovering so far.I may not be old enough but I would like for them to get a taste of  what the real world is all about. I wanna show them its not easy but at least if they have the right mind they would trust the right people.
At this stage of my life I don't know where I'm planning to go. All I know is home and my local areas,but it doesn't mean I don't wanna go beyond my horizons and try something new because I do. I would say I am some what like both the free and trapped Prisoner. I do wanna explore more but at the same time I feel like I'm so use to what I know that I'm scared. I'll continue to  look around in the amazement of the world that is being shown to me while I go.

The Heroic Journey 1.2

As I awake for my usual routine of my day I had forgotten once I had to step out the threshold there was no plans of  returning home I had to continue my journey til it was done. I wasn't sure of  when the return home was but I knew if it was longer then a day it must be a very important adventure. I had to prepare my tailsman of my nessecarys my what was going to come. As i was about to exit the threshold of home I was thinking of all the things i might encounter. It did in fact scare me at first but knowing some what of  my goal had to do with Joy and happiness.
First stop, waswhat we mordern day people call school, reality,College! I had to be very cautious with my traveling plans to college because of my encounter home the day before. it took me three hours to get home which was the worst. I thanked god that i had only one class today but it was nothing. once Class was over I headed out to what I call the maze of 34th street to take a trip to Delaware,USA. As I waited for the bus, I had company,My family who waited for my arrival for the long adventure and we all had our tailsman full of our needs packed and ready to go. As the bus arrived we had a minor situtation where it almost put us in a set back. Lucky we was able to leave together.
Our as we took off i looked back and thought "well its going to be worth the trip if im traveling with beloved ones" and thats how it started. since we were all scatered in different seats throughtout the bus we used our technology of cellphones to get in contact with each other. one by one we were knocking out like flies.doozing off to sleep. Each one of us had a full busy day that we couldn't stay awake any longer, expect me. I stood awake casue usually car rides I enjoy viewing the world pass me by. It makes me think like a philosopher on what could happened, why did it happened, and what if things went a certain way. I started to take mental notes for two hours of everything I saw or would like to see or do on my adventure.
Two hours and thirty eight minutes it took to arrive at my destination I was greeted by two more family memebers i haven't seen in such a long time. There it was,the reason of my journey, My cousin carring the gift of life inside of her and us coming all this way to celebrated that gift of life. To give words of wisdom and comfort. As we entered their parked cars i couldn't help but wonder,how such a small child can maybe make a difference in the family or maybe even in life.
As we drove off we spoke about the good memories from the last time we werre united as a family.Some good some bad but when it comes down to it family will always be family. At my aunts home we all entered and claimed where each of us prepared to sleep for the night. I decided to sleep on the floor mattress, I found it  more cozy I don't know why.
It was the main day of why I came to Delaware the celebration of a new life coming into a family or as we call it now in days, A baby shower. It turned out to be touching knowing that my beloved cousin melissa had so much love and support that she had many people arrive with gifts she might need for the little new bundle of joy. We celebrated by playing games based on what to do with a baby or how big was the mother to be was. There was laughter hugs and even speeches from both future grandmothers. such a beautiful night to remember.
Once the baby shower was over we had opened gifts had hadn't been open in my aunts house. As I see my cousins face ful of joy I couldn't help but smile because of the beautiful thing that was going to be in her arms very soon. We all slept on a good note that night.
The last day, We all spent time with one other before we said our final sayonara's til next time. My aunt and my cousins had dropped us off at the bus stop and was on their way back home. As my family and I waited for the bus we recapped our weekened and laughed.The bus came and we all grabbed a seat next to each other. We were lucky this time around but not when it came to coming home. Four long hours on the road with no roadstop and alot of traffic. I usually mind these long road trips. when it goes slow but this time....I let sly.

Life without technology? No Thank you!!! 1.1

                 What can I say about the technologies now? I can say their pretty addictive. Alot has change over the years since electronics have token over in my opinion. The technology now plays a huge role in every ones life including mine in general. It effects my life in many ways because I look back and say " Wow I could've used this at this certain time". But as I continue everyday, I learn that technology comes with its cost.

  

       My life consists of one, A cellphone (Sidekick Lx 2009),Two A Ipod touch, and Three,My home computer. I'm always on two of those three technologies because i find them useful and entertaining. Anybody who knows me calls me a tech head because I also help them out with their own devices as well. It could be any sort of technology. It takes up alot of time but I'm use to it I guess

              If i didn't have these devices in my life anymore,wow! It would only make my life boring and lose communication with alot of people I know. I am very much dependent on my devices which to me are both good and bad. Good  because it makes life easier finding things and keeping contact with people. Its bad because I get caught up with it I lose time I need and focus that i tend to get in trouble.

           All in all I'm dependent in technology and wouldn't know what to do if there was no more technology. I'm so use to it at home and on the go that it plays a major role in my life.
